Having a heart attack or being diagnosed with heart disease can be a shocking, life-changing event. Survivors are often left scared – and wondering what they can do to decrease their risk of having another heart event. Shannon Sherry, a Cardiology Physician Assistant at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, and Sheila Koenig, a heart patient and member of a new team of volunteers called Pathfinders, joined us to share a little about the unique program.
The Pathfinders program is just one of many innovative new ways Providence Prevention and Wellness Program is helping patients live their fullest healthiest lives--from free yoga and meditation classes to cooking classes, a monthly women’s heart health club.
