Tucci: Pan Steamed Mediterranean Mussels

      Pan Steamed Mediterranean Mussels

      To a Very Hot Pan add...

      • 1/2 shallot chopped
      • 4 roasted garlic cloves
      • 3 basil leaves
      • 1 chopped roma tomato
      • 3-4 saffron strands
      • 3/4 cup white wine
      • 1/2 cup basic tomato sauce
      • pinch chili flake
      • salt/pepper to taste

      Once this combination is very hot add...

      • appx. 20 mediterranean mussels

      Cover and continue to cook for just a few minutes until mussels open. Some mussels may not open - simply toss these away (do not consume).

      Serve with toasted ciabatta and enjoy!
