As Oregon's largest provider of cancer services, Providence Cancer Center is internationally recognized both for research and compassionate support services. And it depends on contributions for financial support that brings research directly to the patients. That's where funds from the Festival of Trees go!
Today we were joined by Providence Cancer Center's, Bernie Fox, Ph.D. and Mark Williams. Four years ago Mark was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma that had spread throughout his body. He received an immunotherapy treatment at Providence Cancer Center called high-dose Interleukin 2 (inter-lukin 2). All the tumors disappeared. Providence Cancer Center is internationally known for its work in immunotherapy, the science of using the body's own immune system to fight cancer.
