Professional Photgrapher Lara Blair says that ehe biggest mistake people make in decorating their home with portraits, is to hang small-ish images on a large wall. They become lost (and look like postage stamps!). There are three effective ways to hang portraits in a home: 1) Big Statement Pieces are hung alone in big sizes on big walls. "Go big, or go home" is Lara's motto when displaying pictures of her family. It's a great conversation starter in a room of guests 2) Groups of Images can be put together going up a stairway, or leaning on groups of shelves...the pieces sometimes have a theme and tell a story 3) Pairs of images (especially great when you have two kids) work on a single wall or on walls on opposite sides. They "go together", but can also stand alone.
