It's a fun way to see fast cars and enjoy great food, all while help four local charities. Greg Remensperger, with the Portland International Auto Show, and Erin Hubert, with Boys and Girls Club of Portland, joined us to talk about a fun fundraiser -- The Portland International Auto Sneak Peak Charity Preview Party happening Wednesday, February 5th at the Oregon Convention Center.
At Portland's Most Anticipated Event of the Year attendees will experience the magic of the opening ceremonies and enjoy a night of strolling the show floor of over 500 production, concept, exotic vehicles and technologies while enjoying first rate hors d'oeuvres from local executive chefs, adult beverages from Oregon's top wineries and great entertainment to complete the evening.
Jack Ingram will perform at the event, as will American Young. Both acts bring a country flavor to the event, which has set a target of raising $500,000 for four local charities.
Jack Ingram, named "Best New Male Vocalist" by the Academy of Country Music in 2008, is the Texas born-and-bred successor to the likes of Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, yet with a sound that is all his own that was cultivated by years of playing road houses, theaters and stadiums since 1997. Now Ingram remains in the forefront of country music with the new album "Big Dreams & High Hopes." Sneak Peek organizers are thrilled to have Ingram at the event.
The goal of the event is to raise money for four vital area charities: Boys & Girls Club of Portland, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Meals on Wheels People and Providence Portland Medical Foundation. Attendees can direct the allocation of the ticket cost to one or all four of the benefiting charities during ticket purchasing. Tickets are $100 each with 100% of ticket cost will be going directly back to the charities. Given the nature of the event, evening attire is required and attendees must be 21 and over.
