CAMAS, Wash. - An 18-month-old child's leg was cut off by a lawnmower Sunday afternoon in Clark County, the sheriff's office said.
It happened at a home near NE 272nd Avenue and NE 36th Street, north of Camas.
The child's grandfather was backing up in the riding lawn mower when it backed over the child's leg. Sgt. Craig Randall said there was no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved.
The child was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to a Portland hospital.
No more details were released. The sheriff's office would not say if the child is a boy or a girl.
