Aunt fears for safety of teen who may be victim of human trafficking
The aunt and guardian of a teenage girl who may be the victim of human trafficking told KATU she's terribly afraid for the teenager's safety.
The teen's name is Adrian Brown. She just turned 16 Monday. She is from Aloha.
"I miss her, and I'm worried about her," Kim Staats, Brown's aunt, told KATU. "We can get through this. She just needs to come home."
Brown is believed to be in the company of a man more than twice her age and may be encouraging her to engage in dangerous illegal activity, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
She has been missing since March and police believe she may be in the Vancouver or Portland area.
Brown is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. She has blue eyes and dyed reddish-brown hair. She has several tattoos and one of them depicts herself on her upper right arm. She also often wears a red bandanna on her forehead.
Anyone who has any information in this case, is encouraged to call Detective Jeffrey Boivin at (503) 846-2590 or the Washington County Sheriff's Office at (503) 629-0111.
