Cedar Hills apartment fire displaces four, but nobody injured

CEDAR HILLS, Ore. - One person was treated for injuries on the scene but everyone else escaped safely from a large fire at the Chateau Hills Apartments that began late Wednesday night.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue headed to the fire at 11:59 p.m., and called in reinforcements soon after when a second phone call suggested there were people still inside the building.

When they arrived, they went on the attack to knock down the large fire.

Investigators determined the fire began in a dumpster outside.

Two units were damaged, and three others were affected. Four tenants were displaced, but were able to retrieve their belongings. They also received aid from the Red Cross.

About 50 firefighters responded, including a crew from Portland Fire & Rescue.
