Children playing in pickup cause crash into Tigard house

TIGARD, Ore. - A pickup truck hit a house in Tigard on Friday afternoon, and children may have caused the crash, according to Tualatin Fire & Rescue.

The oldest of the three siblings, only 9 years old, said it was an accident. He was in the car with his sister and the youngest, their 5-year-old brother, while their parents finished up landscaping work at a home up the street.

Then, while they were playing in the pickup truck, someone accidentally shifted the gear out of "park" and the pickup rolled down the hill, through a mailbox, front yard and into a house down the street.

It happened around 3 p.m. on Southwest Carmel Court.

The car rolled into the house, but no one was inside. There was little damage to it, according to TVF&R.

No one was injured.
