Clackamas sheriff's deputy arrested on weapons charges
CLACKAMAS, Ore. -- A Clackamas County sheriff's deputy was arrested on weapons and menacing charges in connection to an alleged domestic violence incident.
Shawn Heikkila, who is assigned to the Clackamas County Jail as a custody officer, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon and menacing. He has been with the sheriff's office since 2008.
The charges relate to a domestic violence allegation from last November. He was then placed on administrative leave, as sheriff's investigators conducted an investigation, according to a Clackamas County Sheriff's Office news release.
The sheriff's office did not provide details of the domestic violence allegation, citing it as an active investigation.
The news release said the sheriff's office "maintains a zero-tolerance policy with regard to employee-involved domestic violence."
