Vancouver man accused of raping girl he met on Facebook

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) - A Vancouver man accused of raping a 15-year-old girl last year after luring her on Facebook is being held on $75,000 bail.

The Columbian reports Juan Diaz-Velazquez was arrested Monday. He was booked into Clark County Jail on suspicion of first-degree child rape and commercial sex abuse of a minor.

According to a probable cause document, Diaz-Velazquez told police he created a fake Facebook account to spy on his girlfriend but later used it to communicate with the victim. He allegedly offered to arrange for the victim to have sex with a man. Court records show he met her, drove her to his home, served her alcohol and had sex with her.

The victim reported the rape to Clark County sheriff's office.

A message left with Diaz-Velazquez's appointed attorney was not immediately returned Tuesday afternoon.
