Woman, 87, dies in Marion Co. crash; 5 injured

SALEM, Ore. - One person died and five others were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Marion County Saturday afternoon.

Dorothy Dahl, 87, of Silverton, died in the crash, the sheriff's office said Sunday. Dahl was riding in a Toyota Prius with Valorie Johnson when a rear-end crash in the opposite direction of Silverton Road pushed a car into the oncoming traffic lane, causing the crash.

The crash closed Silverton Road NE between Lardon Road and 64th Avenue for several hours, according to Sgt. Chris Baldridge.

Medics took five people to hospitals. Their conditions are unknown.

A three-month old labradoodle puppy is missing from the crash scene. Anyone who finds the puppy is asked to call the sheriff's office.

No charges have been filed. The sheriff's office is asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call 503-588-5032.
