We have seen the homeless population grow in Portland, and now one 10-year-old is doing his part to help those on the street.

Jackson Clark of Sandy has been helping the homeless for at least five years.

He started by going to downtown Portland and giving the homeless bags that contained water, chips and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

“I like to see the smile on their faces,” he said during his appearance on KATU on Wednesday.

Right now he’s working to raise money to hold a Christmas party for the homeless.

You can help by participating in a raffle at Sandlandia – a food cart pod in Sandy. For a dollar, you can enter to win a gift basket.

Clark was joined by his tae kwon do instructor Sam Lider. Watch the segment above.
