GlobalSherpa working with TriMet to test payment app

"People have been telling us to please come up with something mobile that they can use on their smartphones," said TriMet spokesperson Roberta Altstadt.

The app will allow you to purchase an e-ticket right on your phone and then simply show the ticket on your cell phone screen to a bus driver or fare inspector on a MAX train.

If you think that might make it easy for some folks to cheat the system, there are some measures in place to thwart any counterfeit attempts.

The e-tickets will have moving and changing features and a QR code that inspectors can scan.
