Portland Police warn about counterfeit drugs sold online and around the state
PORTLAND, Ore. —
Portland Police have sent out a warning to the public about counterfeit prescription drugs being sold illegally in Portland, around the state and online.
The drugs include Xanax, Oxycodone and Alprazolam that could contain "extremely potent substances" that can cause people to overdose and die. Police say they've investigated counterfeit oxycodone, which contained heroin and Fentanyl.
Eighty people have died in the state of accidental overdoses since 2014, but those numbers are increasing according to the State Medical Examiner.
