1 dead in NE Portland gas station shooting

PORTLAND, Ore. -- One man died in a shooting at a gas station in Northeast Portland on Wednesday that officers said is gang-related.

Portland police called the shooting "rare" and "very bold."

The shooting was reported at about 2 p.m. at the Valero Gas Station at Northeast 60th Avenue and Killingsworth Street. Witnesses reported hearing several gun shots after some type of disturbance occurred at the gas station.

Arriving officers found 18-year-old Edward Jewell Paden Jr. dead in the gas station parking lot.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

Police have not made any arrests. The investigation is ongoing.

Killingsworth was blocked off in the area of Northeast 60th Avenue, as officers investigated the shooting.
