Crime Stoppers of Oregon is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run crash.

Ted Jones, 45, was hit and killed around 4:30 a.m. on SE 82nd Avenue just south of Flavel Street on Friday, May 5.

"I don't want this to happen to anyone else," said Dana Jones, Ted's sister-in-law. "Just make it right for us. For them to live with that burden has to be absolutely horrible."

He was found on the street suffering from traumatic injuries. He was hospitalized, but later died due to his injuries.

"I get people could be scared but at some point you think 'how could they just leave? How could they just leave him?" Jones said.

The person who struck him fled the scene without stopping. They were driving a smaller, dark-colored sedan which now likely has damage to the hood and windshield.

The family is raising money hoping to work with police to add to the $1,000 reward.
