2 bodies recovered from Columbia and Willamette rivers
Two bodies were recovered this afternoon, one in the Columbia River and the other in the Willamette River.
Multnomah County sheriff's river patrol deputies responded at 1:15 p.m. to a report of a body seen in the Columbia River.
As they were on the way there, deputies spotted another body floating mid-channel of the Willamette River near the Burlington Northern Railroad Bridge, according to a news release from the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies and U.S. Coast Guard units were able to recover both bodies. The body seen in the Columbia River was recovered near Reeder Beach.
Deputies have not identified either person. Their causes of death weren't immediately known, nor whether the deaths were related.
