2 wounded, 1 life-threatening, in Southeast Stark Street shooting
PORTLAND, Ore. —
One man was fighting for his life in a hospital after he and another man were shot in Southeast Portland Thursday night, Portland police said.
Reports of gunshots brought police to the 15100 block of Southeast Stark Street just before 8:30 p.m.
Witnesses told them they heard four to five gunshots and that a man yelled that he had been shot and had gotten into a car and left the scene. Police went to a nearby hospital and waited for a gunshot victim to arrive.
One of the victims arrived at the hospital by car just before 9:30 p.m. His injuries were non-life-threatening.
A little more than a half hour later the second victim arrived at a different hospital. He was taken to a trauma hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
The Gang Violence Response team is investigating.
Police didn’t have any suspect information late Thursday night.
