A special night in Beaverton for girl fighting cancer
BEAVERTON, Ore. —
A 9-year-old Beaverton girl is battling cancer, but Friday night she didn’t have to think about the fight.
Hayden Christopherson-Engh was the guest of honor at the Beaverton High School basketball game.
She got to be an honorary member of the cheerleading squad, and the students made sure she was appreciated.
The school’s marketing department and Make-A-Wish made it possible.
“We have an amazing community. We have a great relationship with Make-A-Wish. We have great relationships with our community partners. And there’s something special about this event that brings out the best in all of those different groups,” said Katy Robinson, marketing teacher at Beaverton High School. “It’s a fun night. It’s a Friday night. There’s good basketball, there’s good people and there’s a great cause.”
Hayden is in the Make-A-Wish program but she hasn’t decided yet what she wants to do.
