Lanes reopened after shut down on I-5 in Tacoma due to police activity
TACOMA, Wash. -- All lanes on Interstate 5 in Tacoma near 72nd Street were shut down Wednesday afternoon due to police activity, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Both northbound and southbound lanes have since reopened.
Police reportedly closed traffic on 84th Street in both east and westbound over I-5 Wednesday afternoon while they handled a call on the 84th Street overpass, according to Tacoma Police Department.
The scene is now clear and police are no longer on the overpass.
