'Bachelor' couple attends Blazers game, discusses wedding plans
PORTLAND, Ore. —
We all watched last month as a hometown girl received the final rose on ABC's "The Bachelor."
Lauren Bushnell won the heart of Ben Higgins, and the couple attended the Blazers game Wednesday where the team clinched a spot in the playoffs by beating the Oklahoma City Thunder, 120-115.
"This is my second time in Portland," said Ben. "The first time it was a little different. This time we're able to get out in the city and get to the Blazers game, which she's been wanting to take me to for a while. Also, a good time with the family."
Lauren just moved to Denver last week. KATU wanted to know if they were home to plan a wedding.
"Instead of getting ready for a wedding, I played golf at the Portland Country Club with her dad," Ben said.
Lauren has other ideas of how to spend her time while home.
"Maybe trying on some wedding dresses," she said, adding that it was a possibility the couple would be getting married in Portland, but "I honestly don't think we've decided."
But we do know what they may have been talking about while watching the game.
"She just kind of looked at me at the game and she's like, 'I know this isn't the place to be doing this, I want to start planning our wedding. Can we start talking about it?' I was like, 'Yeah, of course we can!'" said Ben.
"The Trail Blazers really inspired me to wedding plan, I guess. I don't know," said Lauren.
Lauren is a huge Blazers fan, but Ben has another reason to cheer for Rip City.
"So Mason Plumlee - an awesome guy - I went to middle school and high school with Mason," said Ben.
They even took swim class together as kids.
Lauren's parents are season ticket holders to the Blazers, so they were also at the game with other family and friends.
