Man assaulted while biking home on Springwater Corridor, bike stolen
PORTLAND, Ore. —
A Portland man was biking home on the Springwater Corridor Trail last week when he was assaulted and his bike was stolen.
Vincent Rodarte says he was on his way home via the trail just after midnight last Tuesday, May 9. The next thing he remembered was waking up face down on the trail, just below the SE Tacoma crossing near SE 32nd Avenue after 3 a.m.
He was disoriented, dizzy and nauseous -- and his bike was gone. Luckily, he still had his wallet, phone and backpack.
He managed to get in touch with his daughter, who picked him up shortly after. Rodarte suffered a small abrasion on his cheek and a cut to his nose.
Rodarte's On One Parkwood 29er remains stolen. Call police if you spot if or if you have any information about the attack.
