Body of man who drowned at Paradise Point State Park recovered
LA CENTER, Wash. —
Authorities have found the body a 41-year-old man who drowned at Paradise Point State Park.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office said Michael C. Keith’s body was found in 20 feet of water in the East Fork Lewis River Wednesday afternoon near where witnesses said he was last seen.
Rescuers were called at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on a report that a swimmer yelled for help, went underwater and didn’t resurface.
Authorities searched for the man until dark but couldn’t find him.
A dive team from Multnomah County, with the help of Clark County deputies, resumed searching for the swimmer at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, but they didn’t find his body until 4:20 p.m.
Keith was a resident of La Center.
