Bomb scare at Scappoose police station causes evacuations
SCAPPOOSE, Ore. - A man walked into the police station at about 2:30 Tuesday afternoon with an ice chest, saying he believed there was a bomb inside that he had disarmed, according to the Scappoose Police Department.
The police station and City Hall (which is in the same building) and several other buildings were evacuated. Police also closed off several blocks.
The man put the ice chest outside.
The Oregon State Police bomb squad arrived and blew up the ice chest.
There were no reports of injuries.
