Burglar found sleeping in homeowner's dog kennel next to couch, two people arrested

Portland Police say a burglar was found sleeping in a homeowner's dog kennel Tuesday morning.

Police were called to a home on NE Multnomah Street around 5:40 a.m. for a burglary. At first officers, couldn't find any suspects until they spotted one of the burglars curled up and asleep inside a dog kennel.

Officers woke the suspect up and arrested him on burglary charges. He's been identified as 43-year-old Bruce Ewing Drumright.

A second suspect, 58-year-old Gene Edward Maller, was found hiding in the backyard and arrested on burglary charges and a parole violation.

Stolen property and money were found in the yard.
