C-SPAN bus tour brings interactive exhibits to Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. —
C-SPAN is on a nationwide tour and on Monday that tour landed in downtown Portland.
The nonprofit media network showed off a 45-foot bus decked out with interactive exhibits, which ranged from fun-focused activities like the selfie station to a classroom area that shows off C-SPAN’s abilities in the classroom.
And as visitors explore the flashy displays, C-SPAN hopes people discover the depth of resources that they have to offer.
"We have a ton of free resources that we want people to check out, whether they're checking out online or whether they're tuning in on television," said Shannon Augustus, a marketing representative for C-SPAN.
She listed some of the content people may not have known was available to them. There are podcasts on politics and history, and a huge online video database that stretches back for decades.
The bus was parked in front of Oregon's Capitol in Salem last week. Gov. Kate Brown was on board for an interview. Watch it below:
