City Council approves $20K to help rebuild Portland Mercado food carts after break-ins
PORTLAND, Ore. - City Council has approved $20,000 to help rebuild a Southeast Portland food cart pod that was vandalized earlier this week.
Commissioner Nick Fish's office says the money will come out of the city's contingency funds and will be available for repair work that isn't covered by insurance.
Police are still searching for the vandals who caused about $25,000 in damage to the Portland Mercado food carts on Southeast Foster Road. Eight of the ten carts on the property were damaged and six were broken into Sunday night.
Call police if you recognize either guy in the surveillance video (pictures above).
