Crews work overnight to put out hot spots in N PDX fire
PORTLAND, Ore. —
Portland Fire and Rescue crews worked overnight to put out a large pile of burning, recycled material.
The fire started at Schnitzer Company in the 12000 block of N Burgard Road around 5:30 p.m. Officials had to call in a second alarm for additional resources due to the size of the fire and nearby flammable gases.
The fire was under control by 8 p.m., but crews remained on scene through 4:15 a.m. to make sure the fire was fully out.
No one was injured and the cause remains under investigation.
