Deputies find 3 teens who went missing in Opal Creek Wilderness

MARION COUNTY, Ore. - Sheriff's deputies found three teenagers who were late returning from a hiking trip in the Opal Creek Wilderness.

Bodie Teeple, 17, Alex Ruiz, 16, and Allen Carillo-Mejia, 17, went hiking around noon on Saturday.

Deputies began looking for them around midnight. They said just before 10 a.m. that they'd found them.

The boys said they had decided it was too dark to hike out Saturday night, so they set up camp and headed back in the morning.

All three were fine.

The sheriff's office deployed a Jeep patrol, a posse and K-9 search teams.
