Deputies: Gaston woman shot boyfriend in leg, arrested on attempted murder charge
GASTON, Ore. – A Gaston woman was arrested on an attempted murder charge Tuesday after she shot her boyfriend in the leg during an argument, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies say they responded to a report of a disturbance with a weapon in the 1200 block of Southwest Tanner Creek Road outside of Gaston at 8:24 p.m.
A man told deputies his girlfriend had shot him in the leg.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office along with other law enforcement agencies took Shannon Main, 57, into custody.
A deputy applied a tourniquet to the 57-year-old victim’s leg before medics arrived. He was then taken in an ambulance to a hospital for a single gunshot wound to his left leg and a laceration to his head.
He’s expected to survive.
Main was arrested on charges of attempted homicide, assault in the first degree, and unlawful use of a weapon. She’s booked at the Washington county Jail on $250,000 bail.
