Driver dies in hospital after Sept. crash in NE Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. – The driver in a crash from mid-September has died in the hospital on Sunday, Portland Police officials said.
Officials said that Deangelo Washington, 25, was driving a Toyota Camry on Sept. 18 when he collided with a Ford pickup near the intersection of NE 15th Avenue and Lombard Street.
His passenger, 42-year-old Quilly Thomas, and a passenger in the pickup, Akaaylee Burton, died at the scene. Three others in the pickup truck were seriously injured in the crash.
On Sunday, the Oregon State Medical Examiner told Portland Police that Washington had died in the hospital.
His death marks the 37th traffic-related death in Portland so far in 2017. At this time last year there were 34 traffic deaths in the city.
