Father, 61, and son, 35, accused of sexually abusing 6-year-old
HUBBARD, Ore. - A 61-year-old man and his 35-year-old son are accused of sexually abusing a 6-year-old child, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said.
U.S. Marshals arrested Duane Shottenkirk and his son Earnest Shottenkirk on June 14 in Hubbard. Both men were taken to the Clackamas County Jail.
The two are accused of numerous sex crimes involving a then-6-year-old child who was a member of their family. The alleged abuse took place in 2011 at their home in unincorporated Canby, Ore., investigators said.
Duane Shottenkirk, 61, faces two counts of sexual abuse and 26 counts of encouraging child sex abuse. Investigators said he also solicited and distributed child pornography. His bail was set at $500,000.
Earnest Shottenkirk, 35, faces two counts of sexual abuse. His bail was set at $250,000.
Sgt. Robert Wurpes said the sheriff's office is searching for more victims.
"Investigators have credible information that Duane Shottenkirk has sexually molested other children throughout his lifetime -- and believe it is highly likely there are further unidentified victims," said Wurpes in a news release.
Duane Shottenkirk has lived in Washington, Oregon and California.
