Fire breaks out at Southeast Portland marijuana grow business
PORTLAND, Ore. —
There was a large fire response at a marijuana grow business Tuesday night in Southeast Portland.
Fire crews showed up to a warehouse in the 6100 block of Southeast 111th Avenue with smoke pouring out of it around 6:30 p.m.
Because they weren't sure how large the fire was, they called a second alarm. However, firefighters got a handle on it fairly quickly.
The fire broke out in the business's storage and office space, not in the actual grow area.
Firefighters said the fire was caused by a faulty exhaust fan in a bathroom.
It was estimated that the fire caused $60,000 in damage.
No one was injured.
