BEAVERTON, Ore. - Firefighters were called to Highland Park Middle School in Beaverton when a fire broke out in a portable building early Tuesday morning.
Flames were shooting out of the building's roof when Chopper 2 arrived over the scene. Firefighters said the flames were 40 feet high.
The fire started just before 6 a.m. Firefighters said crews knocked down the fire in about 15 minutes.
Power lines down near the building made fighting the fire difficult, according to Pete Scott with Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue. Investigators don't know if the lines came down before or after the fire started.
Fire investigators said there was no obvious sign of a cause. They will likely be at the scene most of the day.
No one was hurt.
Maureen Wheeler with the Beaverton School District said the building was being used for storage.
The Beaverton School District said classes will begin as normal at the school.
