Fire forces two people from their home in Hillsboro

HILLSBORO, Ore. - A house fire forced the two people living there to evacuate.

Now firefighters are trying to determine what caused it.

Afire started Sunday night at ahome at 3040 SE Maple Street, just west of 32nd Ave. in Hillsboro.

Firefighters arrived to find flames racing up the side of a wall and burning inside the attic. Crews removed several attic vents to release the smoke and heat, giving them access to the flames. They were able to put the fire out.

No one was hurt.

The fire department worked with the Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross to find temporary shelter for the people living in the home.

A fire investigator is looking into what started the fire.
