Former Tigard High School teacher accused of sexual abuse scheduled for arraignment
TIGARD, Ore. - A former Tigard High School teacher and coach who’s accused of sexually abusing two students is expected in court Tuesday.
Marcus Jolley was arrested on Feb. 1, but posted bail and was released the day after his arrest.
Tuesday, he’ll appear in court for an arraignment in Washington County.
Jolley was a teacher and coach at Tigard High School from 2005 to 2016.
Tigard Police say they began an investigation last summer after a student told a school resource officer about an abuse incident that allegedly occurred in 2016.
The investigation intensified when a former student came forward with more allegations of sexual abuse from July of 2005.
Other former students not involved in the case told KATU they’re surprised charges against Jolly didn’t come sooner.
Jolley was most recently an associate principal at Sherwood Middle School, but resigned from the position in May 2017.
