Frontier Communications landline phone, 911 service restored in Yamhill Co.

UPDATE: According to the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, 911 service to Frontier Communications customers was restored at 3:10 p.m. after a cut fiber line was repaired.

Frontier Communications says landline phone service is down for several cities in Yamhill County after road workers accidentally cut a fiber line near Dundee on Thursday morning.

The outage means landline 911 service is down for Frontier customers in Lafayette, Dayton, Northwest McMinnville and Yamhill, the sheriff's office said. Internet service is also affected.

Oregon Emergency Management has been notified, and Frontier is working to restore service to those affected. The estimated time for service to be restored is around 7 p.m.

Cellphone service is working in the area.

The sheriff's office says anyone in need of emergency help in the affected area must call 911 on a cellphone.
