Gang member charged in February downtown shooting
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police have charged a 22-year-old known gang member on attempted murder charges relating to a February shooting in front of a bar in Southwest Portland.
On Thursday, Jeray Lashawn Jessi was charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a firearm related to the Feb. 22 shooting in front of the Thirsty Lion Bar. He is being held on $500,000 bail.
The charges stem from an incident that started as a fight, which escalated into Cortez Wade, 20, being shot once through the back and out of his abdomen. The Gang Team began its investigation that night.
