      Gas leak forces evacuation of home, road closures in North Portland

      PORTLAND, Ore. - Crews began working on a gas leak in North Portland on Monday morning around 9:45.

      Portland Fire & Rescue said the leak at 6957 N. Columbia happened when a construction crew that was digging in the area hit an underground line.

      Some roads were closed in the area, and a house was evacuated.

      The line was shut off, and the area was cleared just before 11 a.m.
