GoFundMe created for local teen critically injured in wrong-way crash on I-5
VANCOUVER, Wash. —
A fundraiser has been created for a 17-year-old girl was seriously injured in a wrong-way crash earlier this week.
Seth Cusick, 43, entered the freeway using an off-ramp at 179th Street and began heading south in the northbound lanes. He then struck 17-year-old Chloe Yates head-on, who was driving northbound.
Cusick was pronounced dead at the scene, and Yates was hospitalized with critical injuries.
According to her family, she remains in critical condition in the ICU. It will take at least another six months of surgeries and hospital stays before she'll be able to put weight on her legs, followed by months of physical therapy.
