Gov. Brown's opioid task force meets to 'to prevent future tragedies'
SALEM, Ore. – Governor Kate Brown's Opioid Task Force met for the first time on Tuesday to combat drug abuse and dependency in Oregon.
Brown said she wants the task force to find solutions to prevent opioid deaths and increase treatment options.
The task force is made up of lawmakers, doctors, and others in the medical field.
The governor signed House Bill 3440 before the meeting. It gives better access to "Naloxone" - the drug that can reverse opioid overdoses.
