Lamborghini rental ends poorly in Bellevue
BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Maybe that extra insurance car rental agents push isn’t always a bad idea.
A Bellevue driver may soon find out after bashing a rented Lamborghini into a guard rail there.
According to the State Patrol, the driver on Thursday spun off northbound Interstate 405 near Southeast 8th Street in Bellevue.
The Lambo impacted a guardrail before coming to rest on the side of the freeway. No injuries were reported.
A State Patrol spokesperson said the driver told troopers at the scene that the car was a rental.
“Driver had rented the vehicle and said they just lost control,” Trooper Rick Johnson said via Twitter. “#DriveForConditions.”
Collisions snarled traffic around the Puget Sound region during Thursday’s storm, offering a first seasonal reminder that Washingtonians are somehow still bad at driving in the rain.
No word yet whether the Lambo driver sprung for the bonus insurance before hitting the road.
