Police say a 37-year-old man, who was the victim of a random stabbing in Old Town last week, has died in the hospital.

Jacob Shroyer was stabbed the night of May 8 at the Pacific Tower Apartments at 333 N.W. 4th Avenue.

Police say they expect additional charges to be filed against the suspect, 33-year-old Michael Lee Williams. He was already in custody May 9 after being arrested on unrelated charges when police accused him of stabbing Shroyer.

Williams had initially been charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Police say an autopsy will be conducted on Shroyer's body Wednesday.
