Man dragged by car after robbed of cellphone at knifepoint, retains suspect shoe
ALOHA, Ore. —
A man who deputies said was robbed of a cellphone at knifepoint Thursday was dragged by the suspects’ fleeing car while trying to get the phone back.
While being dragged and struggling with the suspects, he was able to rip off one of the suspect’s shoes.
Washington County sheriff’s deputies said the victim wasn’t seriously injured, but did receive some scraps and cuts during the ordeal.
Deputies said the victim was trying to sell an iPhone 7+ using the online site OfferUp.
He arranged to meet with his buyer outside his home in the 15500 block of Southwest Donna Court. Two men in their early and late 20s showed up.
Deputies said one of the men robbed the seller at knifepoint, but as the suspects drove away, the victim tried to get his phone back, but ended up being dragged about 100 yards by a tan 2003 or 2004 BMW X5 with no license plates.
Deputies said one of the suspects was about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed 130 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans.
The other suspect weighed about 140 pounds, had a mustache, wore dark blue jeans and a black baseball cap.
The knife was a black-handled switchblade.
