Man facing attempted murder charge in random stabbing attack in Old Town Portland

A 33-year-old man is facing attempted murder charges after police say he stabbed a man inside the lobby of an Old Town/Chinatown apartment building.

Jacob Shroyer remains hospitalized in critical condition after he was stabbed multiple times around 10 p.m. last Monday.

Michael Lee Williams was charged Thursday on attempted murder, assault and unlawful use of weapons charges in connection with the attack. He was arrested May 9 on unrelated charges and a parole violation.
