Man found dead in Fernhill Park in NE Portland after report of gunfire
PORTLAND, Ore. —
Police found a man dead inside Fernhill Park on Monday night as they were responding to a report of gunfire.
Police were called at about 9:30 p.m. to the park, which is at 6010 N.E. 37th Avenue.
Medics determined the man was dead.
Homicide detectives are investigating and a member of the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene.
"At this time we’re asking that any neighbors in the area that may have seen anything or may have surveillance cameras that caught any vehicles or people coming or going from the area to contact the Portland Police Bureau," said Sgt. Chris Burley, spokesman for Portland police.
The man's identity will be released after the Medical Examiner's Office performs an autopsy and next of kin is notified.
