A 49-year-old man has been indicted on child pornography charges after a cyber tip led to the discovery of more than 30,000 pictures and videos of child sex abuse.

The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office announced the grand jury indictment against Shawn Martin after a video uploading website discovered that a user was posting child pornography to his account.

Court documents say a cyber tip led to the search and seizure of Martin's two laptops.

Martin was on post-prison supervision for several prior sex crimes convictions.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court on Friday, April 13, a digital forensic exam of the laptops revealed more than 30,000 images and videos of children in sexually explicit situations, including kids being raped and molested by adults. The age of the depicted children ranged from infants (less than a year old) to toddlers (between two and four years old) to prepubescent children (between five and 11 years old).

Court documents also say that Martin's laptops contained written stories of child molestation fantasies that were downloaded from the internet, written manuals that gave tips on how to have sexual encounters with children, and other explicit writings.

Martin's next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, April 23 at 9:30 a.m.
