Man killed, woman hurt in shooting outside Portland strip club
PORTLAND, Ore. - One man was killed and a woman was injured in a shooting outside a Northeast Portland strip club early Wednesday morning.
Police said they are looking for a suspect.
It happened outside Skinn strip club at 4523 NE 60th Ave. just after 2:30 a.m. Police said someone fired several shots during a fight.
Anton Lashawn Hill, 33, was killed in the shooting. The state medical examiner performed an autopsy later Wednesday morning and said Hill was shot in the head.
A woman in her 20s was also shot. She was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, police said. Her name has not been released.
The suspect, described as a light-skinned African American man, ran north on 60th Avenue after the shooting.
Ray Lampkin said Hill was his nephew. His son was there with his girlfriend and she was the one shot in the arm, he said.
"The other guy was saying something," Lampkin said. "One thing led to another, the other guy hit my son, then backed up and started shooting."
Lampkin says he doesn't know who the shooter is. His son was not seriously hurt.
An employee who was working at the time of the shooting told KATU she was so terrified that she hid in a utility closet. She said two men who were drinking in the club were kicked out for some reason. She later heard arguing and gunshots outside.
Police closed Northeast 60th Avenue north of Prescott Street during the investigation.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Portland police.
