Man pedaling from Canada to Mexico with a rhino... kind of

A safari guide and conservationist from South Africa is biking from Canada to Mexico to raise awareness of rhino poaching.

He made a stop in Portland Thursday. Matt Meyer is of course not hauling a live, 350-pound rhino, but rather a replica.

Rhinos are poached for their horns, which can fetch a tidy sum on the black market. Meyer says three rhinos are killed every day in South Africa. He expects it will take him nine weeks to bike to Mexico.
